Kung Fu Vampire’s Undead Decade the Tenth Year Anniversary
Doin’ Big Fangs Since 1999
April, 1999 – San Jose, CA – American rapper, Kung Fu Vampire—also known as KFV, produced the album, Spacebar that inspired the birth of a new music genre called Gothic Hip Hop. But, coming up with new musical styles was all but new to KFV. Before becoming a full fledged creature of the night, KFV pioneered the Trip Hop movement and formed the band, LSP. During this time there was a pivotal discussion on martial arts films featuring vampires. That concept lead him to adopt the stage-name, Kung Fu Vampire. When LSP disbanded, KFV formed a new band, inspired and styled by the kung fu vampire theme. Kung Fu Vampire is now the vocalist of the musical group by the same name. The group performs a style of music that fuses goth, funk, jazz and hip hop. He and his band have opened for top artists: 2 Live Crew, Tha Alkaholiks, Digital Underground, Kool Keith, KRS-One, Papa Roach and The Pharcyde. KFV has also collaborated with musicians Eddie Gale and Spice 1.
Once Bitten Testimonials
|
“Not only is Kung Fu Vampire’s music magnetic, but its stage show features the Vampire doing back flips and mind-altering visuals, and even fire dancers; it’s like a hip-hop version of danse macabre theater.” R. Osterbeck, Metro Newspaper |
“Even though it’s classified as Hip Hop, Kung Fu Vampire’s Dead Sexy is a complex album with lots of production and real instrumentation that make it as technically ambitious as any “rock band” studio album, I give it 5 out of 5 stars.” Geoffrey Smith, RockstarJournalism.com |
“I don’t even like rap, but I saw you on Public Access here in San Jose and found it virtually impossible to change the channel. Right Arm! Keep it up.” C.G., New Fan |
